Bersus does not arrive like a normal portfolio. A black-clad character carrying a bat occupies the screen while the camera, typography and surrounding objects move through a sequence of tightly directed scenes. Scrolling feels closer to scrubbing an animation timeline than moving down a document, with physical glass, painted textures, sculptural type and carefully staged transitions carrying the visitor from Den Bersus’s introduction into his work, services and case studies.
The current homepage runs on React 19, React Three Fiber 9.7 and Three.js r185, integrated into WordPress and Elementor through custom plugins rather than sitting beside them as a disconnected microsite. Separate desktop and mobile model packs use GLB, glTF and compressed KTX2 textures, while MeshPhysicalMaterial, custom noise treatment and painted texture maps handle the glass and surface detail. A custom scrolling system moves between virtual and native page states, with GSAP timelines and ScrollTrigger coordinating the DOM and 3D scene. Bersus also built a Blender-to-Three.js workflow, separate React Three Fiber modules for the portfolio, and Puppeteer-generated mini-maps derived from the site itself. It is a gloriously unreasonable amount of engineering for a personal portfolio, which is also why it works as one.
