Beyond Horizon puts you behind the glass of a spacecraft and points it toward a distant star. Scrolling drives the camera through thousands of drifting asteroids while a compact HUD tracks the journey. Hold the scanner over certain rocks and they answer with signals. Farther in, five transmissions appear as curved photographs that ripple and refract beneath the cursor. Even the chapter titles dissolve into particles when disturbed.
Mariusz Mitkow built the experience with Three.js, React Three Fiber, and custom GLSL shaders. The asteroid field uses instancing with shader-driven surface variation and pointer repulsion, while the transmission gallery runs a damped wave simulation through render targets to deform the image sheets. Bloom, motion blur, chromatic effects, atmospheric fog, and god rays carry the flight toward a procedural star whose fragmented core opens under the cursor. Take the trip slowly. Space is large, but the details are hiding nearby.
