Nocturnal Dream begins with a crow beside a lake and then quietly removes the floor from reality. Keep scrolling and the camera pulls the landscape into a fortune teller’s sphere, retreats through a church, escapes through a keyhole, crosses an empty street, and rises above a city.
The city becomes Earth, Earth becomes part of an atom, and the atom recedes into a cell before the journey folds back into the crow’s eye. It is one continuous zoom through 12 scenes, held together by scratchy linework, cream-colored paper, restless typography, and messages that sound as if the dream has noticed you watching.
Liubomyr Ulytskyi built the experience with Three.js’s WebGPU renderer, node-based shaders, instanced geometry, native ES modules, and Web Audio, with WebGL2 available as a fallback. The custom post-processing chain adds real-lens depth of field, bloom, halation, god rays, chromatic separation, motion streaks, painterly distortion, and print-like halftoning.
